Support received and our acknowledgements

The lighting system was developed, paid for and installed with the help of numerous people and we are grateful for the help received. Particularly we acknowledge:-

Grant McGibney of TRLabs, Calgary who developed and tested the power circuit which converts the 12 volt power to the current source needed for the diodes.

Ryan Snowdon also of TRLabs, who designed the printed circuit board layout which was used for the power circuits.

Richard Tanguay who provided the services of Pangaea Manufacturing Inc., Calgary to populate and build the power circuit boards.

Kevin Doherty of Pangaea Manufacturing Inc. to whom fell the task of actually getting the heavily laden boards through the solder machine!

Mervin Weitz of Exx-Ell Industries Inc., Calgary, who helped to design the light housing and its brackets.

Numerous friends and acquaintances who helped with the assembly of the lights including Bob and Liz Briskie, Helen Forrest, Beryl Park, Leon Weil and Steve, Diana Petrik, Rebecca Harckham, Dale Borrowman, and Matthew Harckham.

All of the staff at Active Electronic Components, Calgary, MRO Electronic Supply Ltd., Calgary, and Bolt Supply House Calgary North who all helped track down the low cost components we needed to build the lighting systems within targets.

We also acknowledge the substantial financial contributions made by each member of the trekking party as part of the trek fee. We thank Jenny Wong, Leon Weil, Linda Tauscher, Tom Malaher, Diana Petrik, Lee de Soto, Max King, and Bill Hogg.

We also acknowledge generous financial support received from Marlene Campbell and from St. Albert Rotary Association through the presentations made on our behalf by Aline Leighton-Morris.

And we also acknowledge all those persons who have bought Faith’s paintings, which provided the major source of funding for the lighting systems.

In Bolivia we thank Louis Demers for responding to our every request, to CECESEM (Patricia, Stanislau who acted as our interpreter and provided other invaluable support, Gregorio who worked with Quirambaya and Crispin who worked with Pocobaya), and to Yaesu Comunicaiones ( Alfredo Mejia, Ramiro Ramires and Ruth) who supplied the solar panels and other equipment on the basis of phone calls and emails.

For our Peru installation we thank the indefatigability of Val Pitkethly who masterminded everything, and to the Juniper Trust who paid for the systems we installed.

This list is incomplete and I know it and we will update it. But anyway, thank you.
